Family Science Nights
Family Science Night was an event hosted by the teachers and administration at Leslie Middle School and Woodworth Elementary School that was dedicated to families, fun and science. I was a teacher participant at both events and hosted a "balloon rocket" experiment in the science lab at the middle school and a "flame test" demonstration at the elementary school. Below is a lesson plan I created for the balloon rocket activity and pictures from both events.
Building Rapport with Students
I am a passionate person and feel that building a rapport with students is important. Over the course of the year I attended several students' basketball games and after school activities. Making a connection outside the classroom with your students is something I plan to continue with my future students.

Haiti Relief Fundraiser
Students from my related arts class brainstormed their ideas together and organized a school fundraiser. Students decided on having a bake sale to raise money for the Red Cross in Haiti. Two weeks were given for students to collaborate and organize the bake sale. Students created advertisements, announcements and fliers to spread the news about the events in Haiti and the bake sale they planned.
Family Fun Night
Family Fun Night is another event held at Leslie Middle School that I was able to participate in as a supervisor. I supervised the free throw contest in the gym. I enjoy all sports, so this was a great way for me to interact with students in the school, not only from my classes, but from other grades as well.
